Election Day

This is when I really miss my Dad. No matter how hysterically pessimistic my Mom and I would get, Dad would stay calm and tell us to wait and see. The only time I've seen him get excited was when I wore my MCG sweatshirt home and Dad thought I was plugging McGovern....I am not going to follow all those poll watchers and get all hot and bothered. Have book, will read.

I will probably listen to my regular talk radio today & that's all they will talk about.

A book sounds better! I just found the "Jane Wheel" series. The detective that collects stuff from rummage sales, while bodies turn up around her! I'm on the 4th on now.

See ya

I've been reading the Inspector Barnaby (Midsomer Murders) series...so good. Isn't it great to find a new series just when you are up to date on all your other favorites?

I'm glad to know there are other people who use books for comfort the way I do (does it surprise me that they're Gerbils? No, not one bit.)

I have a short list of comfort books the way some people have a short list of comfort food: Any of CS Lewis' fiction; the Little House series; George MacDonald's fairy tales; Orson Scott Card's Ender books; Isaiah and Lamentations and the Psalms.

There. Now you know my sekrit. I'm reading the Little House books this week.
